The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards was held last September 13 at the Radio City Music Hall in New York.  The event had been broadcast live on MTV from 8 p.m. onwards.  It was a starry night, as the who’s who of the music industry turned up at the event, making it a night to remember for the whole year.

The night showcased brilliant performances by such biggies of the entertainment world as Beyonce, Green Day, Lady GaGa, Taylor Swift, Jay-Z and a host of such others.  A touching moment in the show arose at the time when Janet Jackson came up on stage to pay a starry tribute to her late brother, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. The Queen of Pop, Madonna, too paid a teary homage to the late star.
