Charice Pempengco on Obama’s Inaugural Party
Yes it’s true, our very own Charice Pempengco will perform in the pre-inaugural party of US President Elect Barack Obama on January 18, 2009. According to Charice, she is going to perform two songs – “God Bless America” and Whitney Houston’s Olympic hymn “One Moment in Time”. The songs were chosen by the Obama staff themselves.
According to Funfare’s US-based “roving” DPA, there’s a possibility that Charice might perform at the inauguration ball of President-elect Barack Obama on Jan. 20. It’s not confirmed yet. The DPA said that “every artist is volunteering to perform at the event.” Charice is being handled by Oprah who is close to the Obamas, having campaigned for Barack. Oprah is said to be pushing for Charice to be included in the “magic list.”
“Siyemre iba na po ito kasi po dati kumanta ako kay President Arroyo, ngayon kay president Obama naman. iba po ‘yong feeling na isa na namang Filipina ang makakapag-perform internationally,” she said.
When asked what she’s going to say if she get the chance to speak with US president, Charice replied: “Just wanna say thank you for making this dream come true. This is not only an honor for me, but also for the Philippines. Thank you.”
